"Zero UI" is going to kill Graphical User Interface?

Chatbots, gesture, our behaviour, voice-based interactions etc with devices are beginning to move away from the traditional screen-based interfaces?

The traditional Graphical User Interface which we call it as GUI is going to disappear soon?

Not at all, the rise of "Zero UI" does not necessarily mean the death of Graphical User Interface (GUI). While Zero UI aims to minimize or eliminate traditional graphical elements, such as buttons and menus, it is not a complete replacement for GUI. Instead, it represents a shift towards more natural and intuitive ways of interacting with technology.

Zero UI refers to the integration of voice commands, gestures, haptic feedback, and other non-visual forms of interaction into user interfaces. The goal is to create seamless and invisible interfaces that blend into the user's environment, making technology more accessible and intuitive. Examples of Zero UI include voice assistants like Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant, gesture-based controls, and augmented reality experiences.

While Zero UI has gained attention and adoption in certain contexts, such as smart speakers or virtual reality applications, it does not render GUI obsolete. Graphical User Interfaces still play a crucial role in many applications and contexts, especially those that require visual information, complex interactions, or precise control.

GUI provides a visual representation of information and enables users to navigate and interact with digital interfaces effectively. It offers a structured and familiar framework for users to understand and control software applications. GUI elements, such as buttons, menus, and visual feedback, continue to be essential for many tasks and user experiences.

The future of user interfaces is likely to be a combination of both GUI and Zero UI. As technology advances, we can expect more integration of natural and intuitive interaction methods, but it does not mean the complete eradication of graphical elements. Instead, designers will need to find the right balance between visual and non-visual elements to create seamless and engaging user experiences.

It's important to adapt to emerging technologies and explore innovative ways of interaction, but it's equally important to consider the context, user needs, and usability requirements when designing interfaces. Both GUI and Zero UI have their strengths and limitations, and the optimal approach depends on the specific use case and the preferences and capabilities of the target users.
